-Flexibility. -Working with others. -Control and structure. -Considering all my options.
No one likes to be controlled. Yet control is important for human beings. Some use different means to gain and maintain control. Where the analyzer controls through the use of information, the supporter gets control being in a relationship and by getting to know people. Promoters control their environment by finessing and controlling people by influencing others and getting them to do what the need them to do.
Controllers do not hide that the are in control and that the have certain expectations of others. For some, the controller is a formidable adversary to be avoided. The controller's confidence cause promoters to doubt themselves and their abilities. The supporter just wants to get along and have a relationship, while the controller has not given the relationship a second thought.
There is not right or wrong. You are who you are, and depending on what is going on in your life, you will transition in and out of each personality type when you need to. However, we all have a natural tendency to gravitate toward one type. Controllers will feel they can be a promoters, analyzers, and supporters. But they are better at being a controller than anyone else.
