-Create profit and make me wealthy.
-Provide employment and help the community.
-Create customers.
-Increase goodwill in the community.
Once again, a business exists for one reason: to serve. When managed well a business will easily produce profits, but that result is secondary to the goal of having happy employees and customers.
Without happy employees, you will not have happy customers. How you choose to manage your business assets is what creates profit. But no matter what you do fro a management perspective without happy employees and customers you will be spinning your wheels and wasting resources.
Plus when you have happy employees and customer goodwill is created in the community, it provides employment. Take time to verify if the employees are happy and determine the mood of customers. If they are both in bad shape, you will want to determine if this situation can be fixed or if it is too far gone to be worthy of your attention and investment.
